A friend of mine asked me this question. If you knew today was your last day, what single-page note would you leave for your loved ones or the world? What would you say to show your love and share advice on how to live a good life and make a difference before their time comes? I wrote my answer below with my five children in mind.
Simply telling someone you love them is not enough. Love is best shown through actions. Show them your appreciation, support them in difficult times, and stand by them even when you disagree. Show them they can always count on your love.
Focus on the positives in your life. There's no need to dwell on the negatives as they're pretty obvious. Life becomes what you concentrate on. So choose to lead a joyful life. Focus on the things that make you happy. During tough times, imagine how much better things will be when the situation improves. Even when things seem impossible, picture what it would feel like to achieve the unimaginable. Aim to live a happy life, focusing on all the wonderful gifts you have.
Gratitude is important. Don't overlook the good things happening in your life. Take a moment to be thankful. Being grateful leads to happiness, and I want you to be happy. I've been grateful all my life and will continue until the end. Remember, life is a journey, even the end is just another part of it. Enjoy every step of the way.
Live as if your actions will be copied by everyone. If you're kind and generous, the world will be kind and generous. If you're joyful and lively, the world will be too. But if you're sad and down, the world will reflect that as well. So, live as if everyone on earth will follow your lead.
Lastly, don't leave room for regret. If there are goals you want to achieve, go for them! If there are places you want to visit, people you want to meet, things you want to do, don't make excuses. Make plans and go for it! If there are things you want to say, make sure to say them.
Focus on the positive, be grateful, live as if your actions will be copied by everyone, and don't leave room for regret. Enjoy your journey. I know I have
